1. Who We Are
CareerOS ("we", "our", "us") is an AI-powered career platform operated by CareerOS Technologies. We help job seekers optimise their resumes, scout live job opportunities, prepare for interviews, and understand their career health through AI analysis. Our registered contact is hello@careeros.in.
2. What Data We Collect
Account data: Your name, email address, and profile picture obtained via Google OAuth when you sign in. We do not receive or store your Google password.
Resume & career data: Any CV, resume, or career documents you upload. These are processed by our AI to generate insights, match scores, and recommendations.
Usage data: Pages visited, features used, token consumption, and session timestamps — used to improve the product and calculate your plan usage.
Communication data: If you contact us via email or WhatsApp, we retain that correspondence to help resolve your query.
3. How We Use Your Data
- To deliver and improve CareerOS features (resume parsing, job matching, interview prep, career diagnostics)
- To manage your subscription, token balance, and workspace membership
- To send transactional emails (invitation links, plan activation confirmations)
- To detect abuse and enforce fair-use limits on our AI infrastructure
- To analyse aggregate, anonymised usage trends that inform product decisions
4. AI Processing & Third Parties
CareerOS uses Anthropic's Claude API to power AI features. Resume content and job descriptions are sent to Anthropic's servers solely to generate your requested output (match scores, cover letters, interview questions, etc.). Anthropic processes this data under its own privacy policy and does not use API inputs to train its models. No other third-party AI provider receives your personal data.
5. Data Retention
We retain your account and resume data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we permanently remove your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law. Anonymised aggregate statistics may be retained indefinitely.
6. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@careeros.in with the subject line "Data Request". We will respond within 14 business days.
7. Security
All data in transit is encrypted via TLS 1.2+. Data at rest is encrypted using AES-256 on our cloud provider (Railway / Vercel). Access to production databases is restricted to authorised personnel only. See our Data Security page for full details.
8. Cookies
We use a minimal set of cookies required for authentication and session management. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. See our Cookie Policy for details.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or an in-app notice at least 7 days before they take effect. Continued use of CareerOS after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
