What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help websites remember your preferences and keep you signed in between sessions. CareerOS uses a minimal, privacy-first approach to cookies — we only set cookies that are strictly necessary to operate the platform.
Cookies We Use
| Name | Purpose | Duration | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
| auth_token | Keeps you signed in after Google OAuth. Contains a signed JWT with your user ID. | 7 days | Essential |
| careeros_active_tenant | Remembers which workspace (personal or organisation) you last switched to. | Session / localStorage | Functional |
| careeros_token | Stores your authentication bearer token for API requests (localStorage, not a cookie). | Until logout | Essential |
What We Do NOT Use
- Advertising cookies — we run no ad networks and have no tracking pixels from Facebook, Google Ads, or similar
- Analytics cookies — we do not embed Google Analytics, Hotjar, Mixpanel, or equivalent third-party trackers
- Cross-site tracking — our cookies are scoped to careeros.in and do not follow you across the web
- Third-party social cookies — clicking the LinkedIn / X / Instagram icons in the footer opens those sites in a new tab; they may set their own cookies, governed by their own policies
Managing Cookies
Because CareerOS only uses essential and functional cookies, disabling them will prevent the platform from working correctly (you will not be able to stay signed in). You can clear cookies at any time through your browser settings:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy & Security → Clear browsing data → Cookies
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data → Clear Data
- Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data → Remove All
- Edge: Settings → Privacy, Search and Services → Clear Browsing Data
Changes to This Policy
If we introduce new cookies we will update this page and notify you via email or an in-app banner at least 7 days before they are set. We will never set non-essential cookies without giving you an opportunity to opt out.
